Monique LaBorde is a freelance radio reporter and producer. Transom Story Workshop Fall 2018. Duke Center for Documentary Studies Spring 2017.

I’m a freelance radio reporter and producer from Asheville, NC.

I attended the Transom Story Workshop in Fall 2018.

My work has aired on All Things Considered, WUNC North Carolina Public Radio, West Virginia Public Broadcasting, WUNC, and WCAI. I trained as an intern and temp with WNYC’s “On the Media.” I also interned with WUNC, North Carolina Public Radio.

I attended UNC-Chapel Hill on the Robertson Scholarship, a full merit-based scholarship intended for students to be “dual-citizens” at UNC-CH and Duke University. I earned a certificate (basically a minor) from Duke’s Center for Documentary Studies. In college, I trained in oral history at the Southern Oral History Program.

I’m interested in audio stories about place, identity and intimacy.

I’m looking for new opportunities in 2019.
